Naomi grew up in this church and it is now the sending church for the Shields. Both Matt and Naomi graduated from Ambassador Baptist Bible College.
A Heritage of Servants
Matt's grandparents were missionaries in Mexico for many years. Now his parents and also his brother and family are missionaries there.
The Shields first served in Mexico and planted four churches there.

A New Beginning
ARUBA!
In 2016, God moved on Matthew's heart to move to the island of Aruba. The last Independent Baptist work on the island was about to close.
That work is now called Iglesia Bautista Berea and has celebrated it's ninth anniversary.

New Mission Churches
Lighthouse Baptist Mission is the English speaking mission of Iglesia Bautista Berea located in Oranjestad, the capital of Aruba. In 2022, property was given to Berea to start New Hope Baptist Church in San Nicolas, which is on the other side of the island of Aruba.
